The fire station moved to Dogsthorpe in 1943. Although the caption says 1943 -1964 this photo was taken before St George's School and the Child Health Clinic were built. The child health clinic was built before 1961, as I was taken there as a baby.
This second photo shows the Fire Station opened in 1965, much as it still looks today. The buildings to the right of the Fire Station housed the Ambulance Station until it moved to the Edith Cavell site in about the 1990's.
