The Bluebell and The Comet have long had pages dedicated to their history. I thought it was worth mentioning some of the other pubs which have come and sometimes gone in more recent times. See also Rose Cottage which was built as St Leonards Arms in 1861.
The Peter Pan was on Eastern Avenue opposite the end of Central Ave. I must admit I never went in there. It has now been replaced by a housing development. See more below.
The Old Scarlett, on Sycamore Ave, named after the 16C Cathedral grave digger, became Scarletts, it opened on 1st January 1959. It is now a restaurant Ibrahimi's. I did frequent this establishment a few times in my youth, I seem to remember snowballs were our choice of tipple.
Sue McGuinness tells me "Originally run by Mr and Mrs Cockman. Apart from a large bar and also large lounge (they swapped them occasionally) it was one of a few that had an off sales shop."

Thanks to Gillian Greeves for posting the following in the Guestbook: My parents Cyril and Flo Dix managed this pub in the 70/80s and I have quite a few newspaper cuttings and photos from then also quite a few championship cups. I remember Budgie doing the discos and recall it as a real fun pub - darts, pool and dominoes - a great community pub even if it did have the odd punch up lol. My Mum and Dad loved there time living in Peterborough and especially their stay at the Scarlet.

Thanks to Sue McGuinness for this image of herself and her sister outside the Old Scarlett in 1968.
